Through the Steering Group the North West's established library partnerships work together to share expertise and champion INSPIRE.
The North West has a history of co-operative working and the Steering Group provides an opportunity to share expertise and develop wider regional links. As champions for INSPIRE the Steering Group acts as a catalyst for sharing best practice and co-operative working. We aim to enhance our services and build the regions successes by promoting the rich resources available to library users based in Cheshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.
We encourage all North West library and information services to join INSPIRE.
This region was one of the pilot areas for Inspire with demonstrator projects on Merseyside and in Cumbria. Reports on these pilots are available here.
As a result of the work in Cumbria, the AddLib scheme was established opening public, HE, FE and health libraries to learners across the county.
