The Libraries and Learners in London scheme has been providing London's public library members with access to selected HE and specialist library collections on a referred basis for almost two years.
| Now that other regions are setting up similar schemes under Inspire, members of LLiL are making plans to migrate to Inspire in the coming year in order to fulfil the vision of a national offer for library users. |

These plans are in the early stages of development with a consultation being undertaken with members of the M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries to be followed by a similar exercise with London's public librarians and those working in specialist libraries.
At the same time talks were held in March 2005 with a group of Further Education librarians, all of whom are keen to participate in the scheme and a pilot scheme with health libraries is to be set up later in the year.
The range of libraries co-operating in this way and providing access to their collections is thus set to widen as Inspire gets under way.
